Hello Neighbors,
Like many of you, I’ve been thinking about our students and families since the shooting outside Aerie Stadium during homecoming on October 2nd. Homecoming should be one of the best nights of the year, and it was hard to see it end this way. I’m grateful the two young people who were hurt are expected to recover, and I’m keeping them and their families in my prayers.
I’m encouraged by the progress in this case. An arrest has been made and charges have been filed, and I want to thank the Eden Prairie Police Department and the partner agencies who worked quickly to move this incident toward closure. Their work matters, and so does the reminder from Chief Sackett that keeping young people safe takes all of us: parents, educators, faith leaders, coaches, and neighbors.
What I’d really like now is to hear from you. How safe do you feel at school events, in our parks, and around town? What’s working, and what concerns you? Whether you’re a parent, a student, a business owner, or a longtime resident, your perspective helps shape how our city responds.
